Modern Day Shaman

I will now explain in great detail the complex development process by which this work came into existence, including the early stages of defining the concept and the symbolism involved, as well as various technical challenges and artistic decisions which were taken in the later stages of development. The explanation will be divided into a number of steps in order to make it easier to understand.

While this image might seem random and nonsensical, I can assure you that this is not the case. There is a deeper meaning hidden under the superficial appearance. This work symbolizes the changes in our lives which each of us is forced to accept and overcome, the new and unforeseen circumstances to which we are forced to adapt, often with great difficulty and reluctance, as well as compromises that have to be made. This surreal and weird image serves as an extreme example of this. A man with old and obsolete way of thinking is forced into a modern environment and has to adapt or else living in this new and unfamiliar world will be rendered impossible. He makes changes that seem necessary, but of course, he is reluctant to do this for it is extremely difficult to change one’s way of living, not to mention one’s way of thinking. Humans in general try to resist changes and the result of this reluctance is a failure to adapt and, ironically enough, becoming an even weirder, even more out of place inappropriate being.

Only one of these explanations is true, I will let the observer to decide which on his own. I will, however, provide a single hint: the second explanation is nonsense.
